Introduction to Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) Training

(Uncertified but a letter of attending will be given once completed)

The Course

This Course is perfect for the new starters. A great taster to see if you love the industry and have the determination, skill and drive to be one of the top earners in the PDR world. This taster course will also give you knowledge on how to pursue an eventual city & guilds qualification.

What’s included

  • All tools are provided within the training centre, although you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
  • Stationary and note pads will also be provided for any notes you wish to take.
  • Refreshments include drinks and light snacks which will be provided by the centre.

We do ask you to bring appropriate footwear for a workshop environment

Itinerary

Week 1

Day 1 (9am-5pm)

It`s a 9am start for your induction which will involve getting to know you and running through some health and safety information and fire drill procedures. Then, there’s no time to waste, this will be followed by a workshop activity where we ask you to carryout a series of tests, so we can assess your hand and eye coordination. These tests will be continued throughout the week, so we can assess your development. Workshop tasks will be undertaken for the rest of the day which involves PDR to minor dents on panels which are placed on a trestle for ease of access.

Week 2

Day 6 (9am-5pm)

It`s a 9am start for your induction which will involve getting to know you and running through some health and safety information and fire drill procedures. Then, there’s no time to waste, this will be followed by a workshop activity where we ask you to carryout a series of tests, so we can assess your hand and eye coordination. These tests will be continued throughout the week, so we can assess your development. Workshop tasks will be undertaken for the rest of the day which involves PDR to minor dents on panels which are placed on a trestle for ease of access.

Day 2 (9am-5pm)

Today starts off in the classroom which we will show you some video presentations to help you to understand the art of PDR. We will also discuss the previous day to find out if you have any questions after reflecting on your first day. Then practice is the key, (you`re going to hear this a lot!) straight back in to the workshop for another series of dents and coordination tests.

Day 7 (9am-5pm)

Today is fully workshop-based putting together all the skills you have learnt. Videos will be taken throughout the day of your repairs for analysis.

Day 3 (9am-5pm)

Today is a fully workshop-based day where you will continue to remove dents of different sizes, some of your dent removals will be filmed so we can assess and identify any problems with your process.

Day 8 (9am-5pm)

More workshop practice, concentrating on any repair types that you are finding difficult. You will also be introduced to some new equipment that has come to our industry, making you aware of what is available to make your job easier in the future. Although no training is given for these on this course, you will get to have a try.

Day 4 (9am-5pm)

Today we have a few short video demonstrations in the classroom. These will show some techniques on how you should be using your fog lamp and cross-checking your work. We will also have a discussion on tip selection.

Then back in the workshop for more practice. We will introduce creases and brace work today and more videos will be taken of your work, so we can see your progression.

Day 9 (9am-5pm)

You`ve guessed it again! More workshop practice as this is the real key to becoming a skilled PDR technician. More video assessments will be taken to provide data for your final analysis.

Day 5 (9am-4pm)

Well, it`s been a tough week so far and its not going to get any easier! As I said `practice is the key! ` More brace work and the introduction of side panels to repair. We will finish the day in the classroom going over your progression and watching some of the video`s of your work so we can also discuss some of the wrongs and rights that have been highlighted.

Day 10 (9am-4pm)

You’ve almost completed the Introduction to PDR course, we know it hasn’t been easy but congratulate you on your perseverance. One last day in the workshop going over any type of repairs you like. Finishing in the classroom we will go over your two weeks progression and summarise how you have progressed.
